Disaster Specific Rent Assistance Code: TH-2900.6500-200 Programs that offer cash subsidies which enable low-income individuals and families whose homes or apartments have become uninhabitable due to a major disaster or large-scale emergency to obtain alternative housing which may include accommodation in a hotel, motel or rental housing unit. Rent assistance may also be available to individuals who have experienced a localized incident such as a house fire that has made them temporarily homeless.
